Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp says they must learn from their 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace.
Already without the services of Steven Bergwijn, Giovani Lo Celso, Cristian Romero, Davinson Sanchez and Heung-Min Son after the international break, Spurs lost Eric Dier to injury after only 12 minutes and then his central defensive partner Japhet Tanganga to a red card on the hour.
Skipp told the club's website: "Even with 11 men, I felt we were sloppy with the ball at times, and then you go a man down and it's always difficult, especially in an atmosphere like this. The sending off didn't help and it's something we'll look back on. There are definitely lessons to take from that game.
“I felt that they didn't create too much, we didn't create too much. We needed to be a bit more proactive on the ball, which we weren't. There weren't that many chances in the game, really, and the penalty broke us down eventually.
“We can't get too down. We've had a good start with three wins (in the Premier League) and we'll take the lessons from today. It shows there is improvement that needs to happen, regardless of the results. We'll be looking to put it right in Europe on Thursday, as players, that's our opportunity to put things right."
