Small, the youngest player to play for the Blues, had today penned a three-year pro deal with the Saints but Everton are due compensation.
And now Southampton have offered £1.5m for the youngster, but that offer been knocked back by the Blues, who believe a fee of around £5m is a fairer reflection of his value.
