Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has denied comparing Ferran Torres with Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.
Guardiola is eager to develop Torres' goalscoring, but insists mentioning him with Vardy had nothing to do with comparisons.
He explained, “I didn't compare Ferran Torres to Jamie Vardy, I said Ferran had pretty similar moves. Ferran has to eat a lot of soup to be compared to Vardy and what he's been up to in his career.
"Vardy is 33, 34, Ferran is 21, 22. For Ferran, this is just the beginning, and Vardy has done incredible, exceptional things. I am a huge fan of Jamie Vardy as a striker. I said that because Vardy loves to make calls from the back, normally scorers don't really like doing that. Ferran also likes to travel. This is the only point on which I insisted ten days ago. "
