Cristiano Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes sounded out several European giants before his move to Manchester United.
Ronaldo quit Juventus for United in the final week of the summer market.
The 36 year-old striker was prepared to leave Turin for much of the offseason, with his agent Mendes testing the ground with several clubs.
Among those approached, reports Cadena SER, were Atletico Madrid.
Knowing Atleti were in the market for a new striker, Mendes offered Ronaldo to the LaLiga champions. However, it was decided the deal was a non-starter given his past success with Real Madrid.
