Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden was left angry by accusations from fans on social media after defeat at Manchester United.

Hayden and his team-mates found themselves subjected to claims that Newcastle players were running around trying to swap shirts with Cristiano Ronaldo after the 4-1 defeat at Man United.

But Hayden took to Twitter after the game and said to one fan: "Did you ask Ronaldo if I did?

"Acting like shaking hands with an opponent like a man after a tough defeat is a bad thing.

"Lads gave it everything today, sure some of us made mistakes for goals including myself, but to insinuate we are not gutted like anyone else is wrong."
