Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Cristiano Ronaldo will show other players in the squad how to extend their careers.
Ronaldo has shown United and the Premier League that he is still close to his peak, despite being 36 years of age.
The Portuguese scored twice on his second United debut against Newcastle United at the weekend in a 4-1 Premier League win.
Solskjaer told reporters during a pre-match press conference ahead of their Champions League tie with Young Boys: "That was obviously a joke by Granty [referencing a comment by goalkeeper Lee Grant on players not eating dessert in Ronaldo's presence] in a setting with some mates or ex-players.
"Of course, it's not that we had junk food before Cristiano came and he changed it all... Of course, he has proven over the years how to look after himself.
"I think he will be an example for a lot of players on how to adapt yourself, how to prolong your career.
"I said it myself, when you retire, you look back to the best time of your life, so stay in the game as long as you can, stay professional, have a good attitude and when you're done, then you can let yourself go, like I have!"
