Manchester United intend to make a new bid for Atletico Madrid fullback Kieran Trippier in January.
Last summer United brought in Alex Telles from FC Porto, which in turn inspired Luke Shaw to find the best form of his career.
And Solskjaer would like to do the same with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with United keen to add an option who has greater attacking output.
Mundo Deportivo says United launched a €21m bid for Trippier, with Atletico sticking to their valuation throughout.
The report adds that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will make another move for the 30-year-old when the transfer window reopens in January.
Trippier's contract with the Spanish champions doesn't expire until the end of next season, leaving Los Rojiblancos in a strong bargaining position.
