Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers was happy with their performance in defeat to Manchester City.

Bernardo Silva struck the winner for the visitors.

But Rodgers, speaking afterwards, was pleased with many aspects of the performance and felt his side created enough for at least a point.

A Harvey Barnes header grazed the crossbar before Jamie Vardy had a goal disallowed for offside, but Pep Guardiola's seasoned visitors did just enough to leave the East Midlands with the points.

"I thought the team gave everything into the game," the Northern Irishman told LCFC TV. "You know you're going to have to work and you're going to have to run when you're against Manchester City, but I felt we deserved something from it. We had really good pressure at times.

"You have to soak up pressure and dig in as well, but from the first whistle to the very end, we were in it against the champions. We were very, very competitive, so I'm just disappointed we couldn't take something from it because we had enough chances.

"With a bit of the luck they got for the goal, we might have taken something from the game."
