Arsenal chief Edu insists they can be happy with their summer market work.

The Brazilian says the Gunners are building a team for the future.

He told Sky Sports: "I respect all the pressure. I came from Corinthians and then from the Brazilian national team where there is incredible pressure, just like here.

"I understand the fans. I understand the reasons and I accept it, but we will need some time to do what we intend to do. I know this kind of work, when it comes to buying, and I need patience. It hurts Arsenal fans a lot, but it's reality.

"That's why when I tell you we need to create a good base and to create a good base you need time."
