Burnley boss Sean Dyche was delighted with their 3-1 defeat of Brentford.

The Clarets recorded a first league win of the 2021-22 season, to give the boss the perfect anniversary present, nine years to the day since he first arrived at Turf Moor.

After the win, Dyche revealed that he didn't feel his side's performance levels have been particularly low recently but was pleased to see the fine margins go in his favour.

“I am really pleased, the players have been working really hard recently," Dyche said.

“It was frustrating and awkward after games when you haven't had a win. We kept speaking about getting those details right.

“Today we had another good performance but with those details in. Particularly the first half where I thought we were excellent.

"I have been saying recently the performances were good and that it was fine margins, but it really came together today.

“I really liked the energy of the performance in that first half, but also some of the quality.

“I have mentioned recently the strikers would score, and Woody [Chris Wood] gets a goal with a really good finish, also Maxwel [Cornet] popping up with another one.

“We even had one [disallowed goal] that was a marginal offside. It probably is offside, but it must be very, very tight."
