River Plate coach Marcelo Gallardo has been contacted by Barcelona about replacing Ronald Koeman as head coach.
The Argentine is viewed as one of the options to succeed the Dutchman, along with Andrea Pirlo, Roberto Martinez and Xavi Hernandez.
According to RAC1, however, Gallardo has already turned down Barcelona's offer as he is not willing to terminate his contract with the Argentine club prematurely.
Gallardo's deal with River runs until December 31, 2021, and the 45-year-old coach would consider a potential move to Barcelona in January.
Meanwhile, Xavi is also under contract with Al Sadd, but he could terminate his deal if Barcelona come knocking.
