Ronald Koeman was left saddened over his sacking by Barcelona.
The Dutchman was fired by Barca president Joan Laporta while on their flight together back from defeat to Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday night.
Sport says Laporta showed sympthy to Koeman, but insisted it was time for a change of direction.
Koeman wasn't able to address the squad on Thursday, instead he spoke to the players upon touching down in Barcelona, though several players were missing, including Pedri, Ansu Fati, Ronald Araujo and Frenkie de Jong.
Koeman cleared out his desk at Ciutat Esportiva without the chance to address the squad in full.
