La Dea fought back twice from a goal down to earn a point. Marten de Roon struck for Atalanta in injury-time.
“At this moment, it's all we can do and we did it well. There were a few errors, we paid a heavy price, but did well to play this game to the end," Gasperini told DAZN.
“It was a good first half, Lazio played well on a technical level and made us suffer, but I saw a great team spirit and we can have our say.
“We always play looking for the victory. If a draw arrives, that's positive too, but we will always go for it as long as we can.
“Unfortunately, we weren't as precise after the restart and couldn't keep the ball as well."
He added: "The problem is that we are often chasing the game this season, whereas when we take the lead, the opponent has to open up and that creates more spaces. We take too long to turn pressure into goals now and a lot of that is down to a lack of precision in the final pass.
“We've got the right concepts and sharpness, but are lacking something in precision compared to last season."
