Everton U18 coach Paul Tait is full of praise for the impact made by Leighton Baines.
Baines works as Professional Development Coach at the club's Academy.
However, since Phil Jevons exited Everton last month to become part of Sunderland's first team coaching staff, Baines has been working as Under-18s manager Tait's assistant on a short-term basis.
Tait told evertonfc.com: “It's absolutely fantastic for the players.
“Obviously, Leighton's role is to work across the professional development phase, and we felt it would be good if he could come and work alongside me.
“It would have been up to Leighton [to take on the role], of course, and I think he was keen to work with us every day and concentrate on one group of players.
“It's great for the players, great for me – and hopefully great for Leighton, too.
“It's worked really well so far. It's coincided with us getting three wins from four, so he must be doing something right!"
