Kota Kinabalu: The Election Commission (EC) is better positioned to replace the role of Registrar of Societies (ROS) in registering political parties, according to Tuaran Member of Parliament, Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau.
“It is more appropriate for the EC to take over this role from the ROS,” he said, noting the EC was “more independent” compared to the ROS which is directly under the purview of the Home Ministry.
