Manchester United star Jesse Lingard says that he was called the best player in the Premier League by teammate Bruno Fernandes last season.
Lingard excelled during a second half of the season loan spell at West Ham United.
The 28-year-old netted nine goals and proved crucial as the Hammers secured a Europa League spot in the Premier League, and also won Player of the Month in April.
Writing in The Players' Tribune, Lingard said: "After that Bruno Fernandes referred to me as the 'best player in the Premier League' in an interview with United … me!!
"Can you believe that?!? That's coming from Bruno!
"I've got a lot of love for Bruno. He was dropping me messages of support throughout my loan. To get that recognition from someone at his level was just amazing."
