Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti had a message for Ronald Koeman at the final whistle after victory at Barcelona on Sunday.

The Real Madrid and Barcelona coaches were seen exchanging words after the final whistle, and it was clear that the Italian was showing support for his opposite number, with Koeman enduring a tough time at the Camp Nou this season due to the Catalans' poor performances and results.

Ancelotti's celebration at the final whistle was no more than a clenched fist before quickly heading to Koeman to offer a word of encouragement.

"It's a tough job, you have to keep going," he said to the Dutchman, showing real empathy, reports Marca. Koeman responded with a smile.

Ancelotti was respectful with his post-match words to the press as well, pointing out that the Blaugrana had played well themselves despite ending the day with nothing to show for their work.

"I'm happy to win El Clasico because it's the most important match," Ancelotti said after the game. "They [Barcelona] also played well.

"It wasn't an easy game, so winning it makes us very happy."
