Graeme Jones says he expects to be in charge of Newcastle United for the next two games.
Jones has taken charge as Newcastle's interim head coach after Steve Bruce's departure.
"Initially, it was one of upset to be honest," he said. "I had a great working relationship with Steve, he is a good man. You never want to be in and around that in football because it means it has not worked.
"So, initially with Wednesday it was difficult, but we all know the speed of football, we had to move on because if you miss a session you're behind. We had to get the boys ready for the game."
Jones added that he spoke to the club's new owners on Wednesday and they asked him to take charge of the team on a interim basis for the next two games, against Crystal Palace and at home to Chelsea.
