Northern Ireland manager Ian Baraclough has provided an update on Leicester City defender Jonny Evans.

Evans has yet to link up with the national team ahead of their World Cup qualifiers against

But Baraclough says the veteran stopper could make it in time for a return.

"We are not going to put anyone at risk or gamble with anyone, and Jonny is in as good a position as anyone to make that call," Baraclough said.

"We will make sure when he does come into camp we will look after him properly and make sure he is right.

"If he is not quite right, then between myself, Jonny and Brendan we will make that call."

Should Evans play for Northern Ireland, he will likely be fit enough to face Manchester United next Saturday.
