Barcelona president Joan Laporta has spoken highly of Thomas Tuchel to his fellow directors in recent days.

With Barca coach Ronald Koeman facing the sack during next week's international break, Laporta has been discussing potential replacements with his board.

And featuring prominently in those discussions is Chelsea manager Tuchel, says Mundo Deportivo.

Indeed, Laporta has always mentioned the German in private when asked which coach he'd like to bring to the Nou Camp. Laporta sees Tuchel as a modern coach, very prepared for high level competition in addition to being a great student and one who knows how to motivate his players.

Tuchel's contract with Chelsea runs to 2024, with little chance of Barca convincing the two parties to break their agreement at this stage.
