Burnley boss Sean Dyche is expecting Ben Mee to return against Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.

The Clarets captain has missed the last Premier League games after testing positive for COVID-19.

Speaking after Saturday's draw with Southampton, Dyche said of Mee: "Ben has had one day of training in three weeks and I spoke to him and said 'that is not enough'

"I wouldn't do that with any player, including him as our captain.

"He has had two days in total, one with the physios and one with the team, and I think that is a big risk.

"I like to think we can give him the next few days training and he can be involved on Wednesday."
