England coach Gareth Southgate says Chelsea pair Mason Mount and Reece James will be fit for next week's internationals.

Mount has sat out the Blues' last two games while James had to be taken off during the first half in last weekend's Premier League clash against Manchester City after appearing to suffer an ankle injury.

However, Southgate said the pair could be back in action when we host Southampton on Saturday in our final game before the international break.

"Clearly they are still to appear for their clubs so there is an element of the unknown," said the England manager.

"Our understanding is that Mason and Reece have a good chance for the weekend [against Southampton]. We'll have to track that.

"We don't play until next Saturday so there is a bit of time and we will know more as the week progresses."
