Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers was left frustrated with the match officials after their 2-0 defeat to Arsenal.

Gabriel put the Gunners in front, climbing above several static Leicester defenders to head in from Bukayo Saka's corner, while Emile Smith Rowe picked his spot when the ball broke to him after good work from Saka and Alexandre Lacazette.

Rodgers said, "It was an awful start to the game. We spoke before hand that it was important to get the crowd going but we were so passive. We made it far too easy. We can defend both goals better.

"First one I'm disappointed in the referee - it was a foul and the game gets played on, which leads to a corner. We should defend it better. We can be much better. Two really really soft goals.

"It wasn't a great start but we had chances in the first half. Their keeper made a great save but at 2-0 we had to do something in the game. Second half we were much the better team. The keeper made great saves but you rue the start - that's what cost you.

"At times we have to defend better, the two goals today were soft. They get through the pitch too easily. Apart from that Kasper [Schmeichel] didn't have much to do.

"The club is absolutely brilliant for a manager to be here and develop players. We can compete and that's what we always want to do. Great bunch of players that will develop and we keep fighting to improve and try to get to the" next level."
