Belgium have released Eden Hazard to return to Spain and Real Madrid.
Marca says Hazard has been sent home from international duty in order to undergo medical tests at his club to determine the extent of the injury he picked up against France.
The Belgian Football Association don't believe any serious damage has been done but they have in any case deemed it best that he be spared the third-place playoff with Italy in order to receive the best treatment as soon as possible.
The winger underwent initial tests in Milan after the defeat against France and it appears that it is little more than a scare, but with his history, both Real Madrid and Belgium would prefer to err on the side of caution.
The most likely result is that the Belgian has a muscle strain, certainly nothing has been snapped or broken.
Los Blancos next play on Tuesday October 19 and then there's El Clasico on Tuesday October 24, a fixture which Hazard is yet to feature in.
