Former midfielder Ray Parlour believes that Arsenal are not in the race to finish in the top four of the Premier League.

The Gunners are pushing to get back into the Champions League, after they failed to secure any European football for this term.

Despite losing their first three matches in the league, Arsenal are within touching distance of the top four after winning three of the past four.

"Before the game [draw with Brighton before international break], if Arsenal got a win it would have been brilliant, but I would have taken a draw against Brighton. I'm going by being realistic," Parlour told talkSPORT.

"Arsenal are not going to be in the top four this season, they're competing for fifth and sixth.

"They're still in the hunt alongside Everton, West Ham, Spurs. West Ham are flying at the moment, I've had a bet that Arsenal will finish above both West Ham and Spurs."
