KUALA LUMPUR – The restoration of water supply to affected areas in the Klang Valley has reached 85% as of 6pm today, said Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor).
Water supply has been fully restored in three districts, namely Hulu Selangor, Kuala Langat, and Shah Alam.
“The recovery rate in Kuala Selangor is at 99.4%, Petaling (98.9%), Gombak (85%), Kuala Lumpur (70.5%), and Klang (50.4%),” Air Selangor said in a statement today.
According to Air Selangor, the duration of the disruption and restoration of water supply in the affected areas will differ depending on the distance of the consumer’s premises from the treatment plant and the water pressure of the distribution system.
Air Selangor said it hoped consumers who have received their water supply will use water prudently to allow the recovery process in other affected areas to run smoothly as scheduled.
Air Selangor had previously announced that a total of 998 areas in eight districts would be affected by a scheduled water supply disruption from October 13-16 due to the shutting down of the Sg Selangor phase 1 water treatment plant for upgrading and maintenance works. – Bernama, October 15, 2021
