Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has explained substituting Hamza Choudhury in their 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.
With Choudhury having not played all season, Rodgers said he had to withdraw the 24-year-old because of a lack of energy.
Explaining his inclusion and assessing his performance, Rodgers said of Choudhury: “We needed a defensive midfield player in there and someone who can… I think any good team has a bit of grit in the team, and he was able to give us that with his natural strengths of getting up to the ball, stopping play, and then giving it simple.
“He's one of the few players that hasn't played for us this season, because Wilf has been around, so I thought he did well for that hour. He tired because he hasn't played so much."
