Inter Milan GM Beppe Marotta admits they're interested in Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.

Marotta says they had plans to buy Vlahovic to partner Edin Dzeko.

"We always scout and evaluate the opportunities on the market," Marotta said.

“Dzeko was certainly our priority target, and we already tried the previous season. Then favourable circumstances and the promise of the President to start from scratch, helped us. In addition to the seriousness of Roma, who kept the commitments made with the player.

“Vlahovic? I consider him a great talent, even if you have to wait before you talk about a champion. There's a big difference between talent and champion. We were in a very demanding negotiation, even if we could imagine the arrival of two forwards of this caliber.

“The target was Dzeko, the second was Vlahovic. There would also be a complimentary aspect, with the experienced player for the immediate and the player for the future.

“It would have been the best, but we were happy with the Dzeko operation which gave us immediate guarantees."
