Newcastle United hero Alan Shearer was furious with midfielder Jonjo Shelvey for his red card challenge against Tottenham in the Premier League.
The Magpies were defeated 3-2 by Spurs at home in the first game since their takeover by a Saudi Arabia-backed consortium was confirmed.
Shelvey came off the bench for Sean Longstaff in the 60th minute with his side 3-1 down.
Rather than positively impacting the game, Shelvey got a red card for an awful challenge on Sergio Reguilon.
"Stupid stupid stupid red card," Shearer said on social media, accompanied with an angry emoji.
