The Independent says Everton are targeting Newcastle duo Saint-Maximin and Longstaff, but the latter is the one more likely to move.
The Blues were rumoured to be interested in the players this summer, but moves failed to materialise and both remained at Newcastle.
Saint-Maximin is already attracting attention from across the Premier League and will demand a hefty fee, while Longstaff is out of contract at the end of the season.
A swap involving Tom Davies was proposed over the summer for Longstaff.
