Manchester United are ready to hand Harry Maguire a new contract.

The Sun says they have told Harry Maguire they want to offer him a bumper new contract.

It is as a reward for establishing himself as one of the key players at Old Trafford.

Centre-half Maguire still has three years left to run on the £189,000-a-week deal he signed when he joined United from Leicester for £85million in 2019.

But since his arrival the 28-year-old has developed into one of the most influential figures around the club on the back of being made captain.

And the Sheffield-born star is now seen as vital to the Red Devils planning over the coming years.

So United bosses have approached Maguire to open early negotiations over a new long-term contract, which will ensure he is tied down to the club for the next five years.
