Newcastle United's new owners will welcome back supporters' group Wor Flags.

ChronicleLive says fans who were at the ground on Thursday celebrating the sale of Newcastle United to PCP Capital Partners, RB Sports & Media and the Public Investment Fund, saved one of their biggest cheers as four of the group's flags made an appearance.

It's understood that United's new owners are 'excited' at the prospect the group will return for their first game in charge.

Wor Flags had made the decision to stop their popular pre-kick-off displays on the Gallowgate in protest of Mike Ashley's running of the club - the last display coming in May 2019.

But with new owners now in place, the group are working around the clock to make sure that they not only return for the home clash with Tottenham but do so with a brand new flag so to mark the occasion.
