Tottenham Hotspur winger Steven Bergwijn is not worried about competition for places at the club.

Bergwijn has not always been a regular starter for the North London club since signing when Jose Mourinho was still manager.

He is hoping to get more opportunities under the guidance of new coach Nuno Espirito Santo, but Bergwijn believes he has a lot to offer.

The Dutch winger will be hoping for a chance to impress as Tottenham take on Vitesse in the Europa Conference League on Thursday.

He said during a news conference: "There's always competition in this squad.

"We have a lot of good players and I was out for a while so I need to show me again. I just got back and now I'm happy that I'm fit again and I'm going to show myself again."

Asked if Tottenham fans had seen the best out of him yet, Bergwijn added: "No I don't think, I don't think so – I know I have more in house, but I started this season positively and well.

"Last season was difficult for me, but this season started positively and they I got the injury but I kept the confidence from the staff here and you will see the best of me soon."
