New manager Antonio Conte wants Tottenham to sign Inter Milan center back Stefan de Vrij in the January transfer window.
The Italian is known to have high demands of the boardroom at the clubs he has managed in the past, and will expect Spurs executives to back him in the transfer market.
According to Football Insider, Conte has identified De Vrij as someone who can help shore up Spurs' defence for the second half of the season.
The 29-year-old excelled at Inter under Conte, as they won the Serie A title last season.
De Vrij has a contract until 2023 and is valued at roughly £40 million.
