Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is happy seeing Giovanni van Bronckhorst take charge of Rangers.

The Dutchman returns to Ibrox to replace new Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard.

Van Bronckhorst had a short stint at City and Guardiola said: "It is a great compliment to him.

"Rangers is one of the biggest clubs in Scotland, it's a great opportunity for him. He's been here for a while and we're still in touch.

"He's a really nice man, I wish him all the best."
