Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo turned down a shirt swap offer from Ireland goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu in order to gift it to a young girl following Portugal's goalless draw in their World Cup qualifier at the Aviva Stadium on Thursday evening.

The one-time European champions were unable to break the deadlock against the spirited hosts, who were backed by a sell-out crowd for the visit of Ronaldo and his team-mates.

Ronaldo was quickly approached by Manchester City goalkeeper Bazunu after the match, with the 19-year-old trying his luck to see if he could get his hands on the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's shirt.

Instead, Ronaldo gave it to a young pitch invader. The emotional fan was made up as she received the gift before she was led off the pitch by stewards.
