Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is convinced by their team spirit facing Manchester City.

United host City in the early kickoff tomorrow.

Solskjaer said: "It's a local derby and everyone knows what's at stake.

"It's a special one of course. The last time we had a Manchester derby with fans in the stadium the atmosphere was electric. We know it's a one-off game, you have to start on the front-foot.

"The team is very close together. They know they need each other and the team spirit is important."

Regarding United's team news, Solskjaer says defender Raphael Varane is expected to be absent out for four or five weeks, while fellow centre-back Victor Lindelof is a doubt for Saturday's Manchester derby.

And on the speculation surrounding his position, the United boss added: "Since I stepped in the door three years ago there's been speculation ever since.

"We have moved on from [the defeat by] Liverpool. You don't expect an easy ride when you are manager of Manchester United."
