Jesse Lingard's future at Manchester United is in doubt after talks over a new contract fell through.

The 28-year-old is due to be a free agent in July 2022.

He enjoyed an excellent loan spell with West Ham United in the second half of last season and was linked with a return to London Stadium last summer.

However, things haven't gone as planned at United as Lingard has started just one match all season.

BBC reports that talks over a contract extension have now stalled due to Lingard's anger over his lack of playing time.

Lingard is now hoping to seal a loan move in January before leaving on a free transfer.
