Roma midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan insists he was right to leave Borussia Dortmund.

Mkhitaryan left BVB for Manchester United in 2016, where he would las barely a year before departing for Arsenal.

"A lot of nonsense was said during this time. People have said that I only did this for the cash. That's nonsense.

"When I heard that Manchester United was interested in me, I wanted to go there. It was my big dream to play in England one day," said the 32-year-old to Sport1.

He added: “I was happy in Dortmund, but sometimes you have to make tough decisions that may only come once in a lifetime, and you have to take your heart out and listen."
