Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is delighted with the progress of Kostas Tsimikas this season.
Klopp was asked about the youngster at today's Premier League presser.
He said, "Tsimikas is very close and that's why they are on the bench and not just in the squad, for example. He can push Andy Robertson. But Robertson in my eyes is the best left-back in the world but it's good we have the options to give Robbo a rest in moments."
Klopp also spoke of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
He added: "He played a really good game v Atletico, very mature. He had his Oxlade-Chamberlain moments with his runs, but we need Mr Oxlade-Chamberlain as well with a mature performance. He did the role really well. If you play like that, it won't be long before you play again."
