Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is up for this year's Denmark Player of the Year.

Atalanta fullback Joakim Maehle, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and AC Milan defender Simon Kjaer are the three nominees for the award.

The Danish football players have voted, and three candidates have been selected for the most prestigious individual award in Danish football. Last year's winner Kasper Schmeichel, of Leicester City, didn't make the shortlist.

This year's award is chosen in collaboration between the Players' Association and DBU, and the winner will be announced at DR's sports gala show in Boxen in Herning on 8 January 2022.
