SHAH ALAM, Nov 3 — A special complaints hotline to handle domestic violence issues in Selangor begins operating today, said state executive councillor for women and family development.

Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said victims seeking help can contact SELamat 03-64195027 and submit their problems.

“SELamat line is a safe and comfort zone for you (the victims) to share about your situations. Just share your problem, the SELamat Squad are ready to listen and take action,” she posted on Facebook today.

On June 9, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced that RM100,000 would be channelled under Kita Selangor Package 2.0, to develop the special hotline.

The 24-hours hotline is operated by Wanita Berdaya Selangor’s (WBS) personnel, together with support from volunteers.

On August 30, the state government launched the Selangor Mental Health Programme (Sehat) to address mental health issues that have become increasingly worrying since the Covid-19 pandemic hit the country.
