Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule is no closer to agreeing a new contract.
With his deal running down this season, the Germany international is a target for Newcastle United ahead of the January market.
Bayern sports chief Hasan Salihamidzic delivered an update on Friday, stating: "He has an expiring contract, the talks are not easy.
"We'll do our job as best we can."
Sule is willing to stay with Bayern, though his €10m-a-year demands are proving too rich.
