Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe was floating after scoring on his England debut on Monday night.
Smith Rowe struck in the 10-0 World Cup qualifying rout of San Marino.
He later said: "It certainly has not yet sunk in. I do not think it's going to sink in for a while, but it's a great feeling - probably one of the best feelings I've had - so I'm up and running.
"Like I said, I was surprised to be here at all, but I'm really grateful to be a part of this team.
"It's a bit surreal to score for England, I cannot really absorb it to be completely honest."
