Cagliari defender Diego Godin is being linked with a return to Atletico Madrid.
Mundo Deportivo says Godín has reached an agreement with Cagliari whereby, as of January 1, when the winter market opens, he can terminate his contract and move elsewhere.
Now 35, Godin left Atletico two years ago for Inter Milan.
Currently with Cagliari, both parties are happy to go their separate ways from the New Year.
And his availability could lead to a return to Atletico, where the veteran would jump at the chance of re-signing for the LaLiga champions.
