Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale says fans abuse is much more intense outside the Premier League.
Chatting to Soccer AM producer Tubes on his Golf Life series, the goalkeeper discussed his experience with fans banter.
“I've done league two and league one, it's so much worse when you go there," he said.
“They are gunning for you. There's been times when I've done the same stuff, so I'm not being aggressive or I'm not telling them to f*** off or anything, I'm just joining in... and they'll be waiting for me to get back on the bus.
“And in League One there's no barriers or security, so I'm off, I'm on the bus as quick as I can."
And, as well as enjoying the variety of chants directed at him, Ramsdale explained that concentrating on the away fans' abuse helps him focus on not conceding.
“It makes me concentrate better. I'm not a person who can just sit down and chill. I have to be doing something," he added.
“You know if you were to concentrate on one thing so much you end up making silly mistakes?
“So when I give it to the away fans, if I'm giving it to you, and then I make a mistake, I know I'm going to get absolutely slaughtered, so it gives me an extra edge to be like, 'well if I'm giving you banter, I can't let you have anything'.
“But then my own fans, I genuinely have so much love for the game, especially goalkeeping, and when they show their love it's hard not to do it."
