Newcastle United are adding several Under-23s players to senior training.

The Magpies included forward Elliot Anderson, midfielder Jack Young, left-back Matty Bondswell and striker Dylan Stephenson to the senior squad this week.

According to Chronicle Live, the foursome were watched by coaches Jason Tindall, Graeme Jones and Ben Dawson.

Newcastle are preparing to take on Arsenal in the Premier League this weekend.

Manager Eddie Howe is still absent from training, as he is self-isolating after testing positive for COVID-19 on Friday.

The club website stated: "Eddie Howe has been unable to take training this week, with Newcastle United's new head coach still self-isolating after testing positive for Covid-19 on Friday, but the work continues ahead of Saturday's trip to Arsenal."
