Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah State Literary Award will be presented by Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin this Saturday.
Dewan Bahasa Dan Pustaka (DBP) Director Aminah Awang Besar said the award is the second to be held.
“The award ceremony will be held at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC).
“Nominations for the award opened since last year are from non-governmental organisations such as associations and institutions, with evaluations made fairly to select the candidates for the award.
“The head of the panel assessing the literary works is a national recipient of the award himself,” he said after paying a courtesy call on Juhar at the Seri Kinabalu palace, here.
She added that the award will give credit to the candidates who will be nominated as the national writer.
