SHAH ALAM, Nov 18 — The Selangor Smart Bus programme has conducted over 10,700 journeys to transport patients to the Covid-19 Low-Risk Quarantine and Treatment Centre (PKRC) in Serdang.
The figure is the estimate for a 10-month period since the programme began to do so early this year, said state executive councillor for transportation Ng Sze Han.
“Thus far we have ended the service, since the entry of patients is slowly reducing, unlike at the start of the pandemic,” he said during the Bual Bicara Selangor TV #Selangor2022 Langkah Hadapi Endemik discussion show yesterday.
Ng added he will continue to review the plausibility of adding more routes for the programme, which will also depend on the allocations provided under the upcoming 2022 Selangor Budget.
“We have received many requests to add routes, but we will study it further. I hope the public transportation allocation such as for Selangor Smart Bus, will be retained in the budget,” he said.
On January 20, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced the Selangor Smart Bus programme will be utilised to transport Covid-19 patients from their homes to the PKRC.
