Lille midfielder Renato Sanches says he was on his way to Barcelona before being injured for Portugal at the Euros.
Renato made the revelation when speaking with La Voix Du Nord yesterday.
He said, "If I hadn't been injured, I would have signed for Barça this summer. Barça and Lille had already agreed."
His emergence in 2016 was meteoric and he signed for Bayern Munich although he never achieved the level expected of him.
Asked about it, Renato commented that "when I went to Bayern in 2016, I was not ready to play for a club like this, today I feel prepared".
